SURF CLUB FOR KIDS

A world of fun opens up for children when they participate in The Surf Club, the resort’s free-standing clubhouse with water feature that will keep kids busy and delighted the entire day. The Surf Club features a Hawaiian Surf Simulator, custom built for Harbor Beach, allowing one to four children at a time to “surf” the waves. For those in need of more practice, a simulated hotel associate will pop up on the video game to suggest surfing lessons.

The clubhouse also includes a theater room with stadium seating, a 65-inch plasma television over a stage and over-sized bean bag chairs, as well as a media room with four Macs, two additional televisions and two Xbox 360s. Four underwater digital cameras are available for kids’ use with a kid-friendly photo formatting program for downloads. Surf Club kids can then take their individual photos and make personalized souvenirs with supervised use of heat presses; souvenirs include t-shirts, puzzles, mouse pads, mugs and more.

There’s arts and crafts, games, puzzles and more at the Surf Club.

The Surf Club, for children ages 5-12, is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, from 9am – 12 noon and 1pm -- 4pm, from now until October 15 when regular daily hours will resume.  Call Ext. 6735 or visit the poolside Recreation Center for more information.

WATER SPORTS

Guests will not only relax and renew their spirits on the resort's 1/4 mile of private beach, they can make it their very own water sports playground.  Go snorkeling in the turquoise seas, set off on a catamaran with the wind in your hair, or make a splash on a boogie board. 

You'll find everything at your fingertips at Aloha, the water sports professionals located right on our beach.  Parasailing, ocean kayaking, speed boating, and wave running -- your options are as abundant as your sense of adventure!

SNORKELING

Aloha Water Sports offers a variety of diving activities,  from snorkeling   to   offshore boat excursions. 

Fort Lauderdale is recognized as one of the world's top diving locales, and our resort boasts two reefs and four dive sites right off our 1/4- mile of beach.  The first, a flat reef, is only 100 yards offshore and home to several sea turtles.  The 2nd reef, 300 yards offshore, has a 2 to 6 foot ledge where fish of all kind abound.

Greater Fort Lauderdale is truly an angler's paradise, and guests at Harbor Beach Resort can find world-class fresh water and salt water fishing within easy reach.  More than 200 fresh water species dwell in the area's inland lakes and waterways – including that vast River of Grass, the Everglades.  Deep-water fishing fleets, geared up and ready to take you out into the Atlantic and Gulf Stream in search of  the big ones, are docked within walking distance from the resort.   Families especially enjoy fishing on the area municipal piers that stretch far out over sparkling ocean waters, and visiting the nearby International Game and Fish Association's Fishing Hall of Fame and Museum.  Our concierge staff would be pleased to assist with information and charters.
